Since I moved to the shithole I call St Albans, I’ve been forced to use ADSL from a company called AAPT, and while I hate ADSL I hate AAPT more, why? I will tell you.

First, I will state the only thing I like about the ADSL I have at the moment, I’m close to the exchange so it’s pretty fast compared to the other ADSL lines I’ve used.

Now on to why I hate AAPT and their internet services. Their prices are absolutely fraking ridiculous for the bandwidth and speed you get, I mean how do they get away with charging $90 for 15GB (actually LESS!) a month and 8000kbps speed, It’s a rip off.

Now when I say 15GB I mean as in download limit, now I can put up with a download limit just as I have all my life but at $90 it’s just stupid to have a 15GB limit, last time I payed $90 I had at least 50GB.

The bandwidth problems don’t stop there, for the past two months I have some how gone over the limit, which is complete BULLSHIT. I took a look at what I download, which is 3 maybe 4 350MB files a month which is 1.4GB, bringing my remaining limit to 13.6GB, now I may download a few files that are around 100MB, lets say 3 times at 120MB, which will bring my remaining downloads to 13.2GB.

Now 13.2GB is a lot, how can it just disappear? I don’t get a lot of emails, nor do I browse websites that are heavy on images. I download a few songs off iTunes but not enough that they add up to 13GB, so lets just say I have 10GB left after adding up my emails, internet browsing and iTunes downloads.

So where is my remaining 10GB going? I bet you I don’t have 15GB at all, I think AAPT have fraked me over and given me some bullshit plan that costs $90 and only has 5GB.

I thought my old ISP, BigPond was shit, but now I see they are a hell of a lot better than AAPT. When I move I will probably use either TPG or BigPond. TPG has more bandwidth but a static IP while BigPond has less bandwidth, a static IP and costs more. Any smart person would go for TPG which I will probably do.

Now if you want to know what I think of AAPT, I think they are a bunch of idiotic son of a bitches that slow people’s internet down just for the fun of it, even if they haven’t even used 50% of their bandwidth and would rate them 0 out of 10 for their services, internet and support.

Where would I place them on the shit list? at the top.

Yes, you read the title right, I said Firefox sucks, Let me give you  a minute to cool off after reading that.

I’ve been using MSN / Windows Live Messenger for years and I’ve always loved it.

But since I used WLM 8.5 Beta I have started to dislike it, the main reason being it didn’t work right, every time someone sent me a message the damn thing crashed.

 I know it was a beta version but still – why release it when it crashes all the time? Shouldn’t they fix that before asking people to test it?, So I removed it and put 8.1 back on.

But today I thought I would try 8.5 as its now ’stable’, When I first tried it I liked the new interface but now I don’t seem to like it that much anymore, and the first time someone sent me a message the Windows border went all black – I’m guessing its because I have the window borders turned off, but still that shouldn’t have happened and made me think about going back to 8.1 – again.

When I was talking to someone and I was looking at the chat and contact windows again, I just kept remembering WLM crashing back when I had the beta installed, it was starting to annoy me, I just had to go back to 8.1, I’m not sure what I will do when they drop support for my favorite version, I guess I’ll just have to get used to the new interface or use something like Trillian.

Looks like us Australians might be getting faster internet in more areas, Right now its only in a few areas that have overhead powerlines, but hopefully in a year or so more areas will have access to high speed internet.

I’m lucky, at the moment I have Cable with the speed of up to 30mbps,

I almost forgot to blog this, I was using Internet Explorer the other day and after clicking a link like I do in any other browser the damn thing crashed on me.

This goes to show how unstable Internet Explorer is, if clicking a link on a webpage can crash IE I wonder what downloading a file can do, would it crash the harddrive?

Now I remember why I stopped using it and switched to Firefox, which I have been using since it was in Beta.

I read about Flock months ago but I never downloaded it, today I decided to try it,
and I have to say, if you think Firefox then you really need to try Flock.

Its sexy, its fast and makes it easier upload images to Flickr, Photobucket and Facebook, it can do so many more things, but I just cant list them all, you will just have to get Flock and try it for yourself.
